Are you a motivated graduate with a passion for engineering in the maritime industry? AECOM invites you to apply for the role of Graduate Engineer – Ports & Marine within our dedicated team. This opportunity is part of our exclusive 2024 Graduate Program, where you will work closely with experienced Engineers on exciting port and marine projects.

As a Graduate Engineer – Ports & Marine at AECOM, you will play a vital role in developing designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models according to specific discipline requirements. You will collaborate with experienced Engineers to ensure high-quality outputs within project timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with design content using design and technical knowledge to meet project objectives.
  • Performing work under supervision to meet budget and schedule requirements.
  • Collecting and analyzing information from discipline-specific and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
  • Utilizing computer software to solve fundamental engineering problems.
  • Coordinating with other discipline Engineers to maintain design continuity.
  • Participating in design progress and coordination meetings.
  • Ensuring the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams, verifying accuracy to design instructions.
  • Actively seeking information and opportunities to contribute to project efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Solving problems and applying knowledge to atypical assignments, contributing to project success.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in one or more of the following subjects from an accredited University
  • Structural engineering
  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Coastal engineering
  • Marine engineering
  • Ocean engineering
  • Applied physics
  • Naval architecture
  • Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM’s Graduate Program.
  • Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.
  • If you hold a Master’s Degree, it should have started within 12 months of completing your Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.
  • Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional-level roles instead.

Recruitment Timeline:

  • Review of CVs, phone screening, and technical interviews: June and July 2024
  • Mobilization & visa processing: August 2024
  • Start Date: September / October 2024
  • Program Orientation: November 2024 (This includes an induction and meet-and-greet for the entire graduate cohort from all our offices in the ME)
