Job Description

To manage and facilitate the catering operations at both home-base and out-stations, ensuring the procurement of top-quality products from the most suitable suppliers, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and adherence to dietary requirements and cultural preferences, including Halal requirements, all within financial budget constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages Emirates Flight Catering (EKFC) performance to ensure delivery of all products and services as designed.
  • Plans menu presentations tailored for both home-base and outstation caterers, ensuring that menus align with dietary requirements, cultural preferences, and flight schedules.
  • Evaluates the pricing of all catering proposals and analyzes the most cost-effective methods for catering at each station, presenting recommendations to senior management.
  • Compares catering services across various stations and regions, assessing quality, pricing, and service levels to establish benchmarks.
  • Plans and executes start-up activities for new stations or caterer change-over, including pre-visits, recommendations to caterer and senior management, as well as pre-planning and execution at the location.
  • Develops a scoring system using crew feedback tools to assess Complaints per 1,000 flights and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) per 100,000 meals across the network for all caterers.
  • Produces a monthly report detailing service levels of caterers across the network, incorporating metrics such as delays, service quality, culinary feedback, and responsiveness
  • Guides the team in handling daily operational tasks within the Catering Department, overseeing their execution and ensuring alignment with departmental goals, while liaising with senior management to manage outcomes effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (3+ years)
  • Degree in Catering or Hospitality preferred
  • Audit certificate – HACCP and HALAL qualified preferred.
  • HACCP PIC training and qualifications.
  • Hold or obtain a current Dubai Driving License that can be used to obtain a Dubai Airports Airside Driving Permit.
  • Fluent in English
  • Minimum of 7 years’ airline experience with at least 5 years in catering operations.
  • MS Office Suite, Oracle/SAP, Intelex business solutions, Paxia catering planning system, Publisher and Smartsheet.
