Job Description

The Business Developer acts in the service of the growth of TotalEnergies Renewables, in coordination with several internal stakeholders, by orchestrating the origination process, and by supporting Project Developers during the development phase until the start of construction.
The Business Developer interacts particularly with Structured Finance, Project Development, M&A, legal and Offtake and externally with authorities, clients and partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to TotalEnergies reputation, and cultivates solid relationships with stakeholders across the targeted area in order to build long term relationship
  • Conducts/ assists key commercial negotiations and gives guidance on deal structuring
  • Deploys the partnership strategy, develops partnerships agreements to grow faster, manages the relationship with partners and co-development partners being the main Point of Contact for commercial discussions until transfer to construction
  • Structures and negotiates development agreements with co-developer, consultant, sub-contractors, & manages relationship with external stakeholders in coordination with the Project Developer and local representant (Country Chair, Business “Explorers”…)
  • Coordinates Business “Explorers” in the targeted region by relying on this local representant and its specific skills
  • For all countries except Merchant countries, manages offtake & client with the support of Offtake Manager (from GRP Integrated Power Business Unit) if needed
  • Supervises the development of the project/ tender preparation in coordination with the Project developer and other internal stakeholders
  • Oversees presentation materials to support investment decision making by her/his management for the dedicated governance committee
  • Identifies acquisition opportunities, and leads their management when relevant (respecting governance rules and limits)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master degree of Business or Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience, most preferably in Renewable industry
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Fluent in English / Language of the country is a plus
