Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced, inspirational, and dedicated Music Teacher to join our Performing Arts team commencing in September 2024.

Music is taught on the curriculum through school, from FS to KS4, and also in the extensive enrichment/ECA programme, which occupies a high-profile role within the school. This is demonstrated through our eclectic calendar of concerts and events both in school plus externally.

The department has a growing number of Choirs, award-winning Ensembles and Bands across a range of musical styles including classical, musical theatre, jazz, rock and pop. The successful candidate will be keen to make a significant impact in this area, and have the vision to develop this in the Department. This role is for an exceptional person that can quickly become part of our high performing, fast-paced environment and is committed to providing an outstanding contribution to our extensive extra-curricular Performing Arts enrichment programme for our 3680 learners.

The successful candidate will be required to teach across Primary and Secondary phases – dependent on their experience – to include potentially GCSE music at KS4. It is desirable that the person has experience and interest in leading a variety of music ensembles, both vocally and/or instrumentally.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A certified professional teaching qualification such as B.A, B.Ed., PGCE, PGDE or equivalent.
  • Excellent practical experience in music education of at least two years, with a thorough knowledge of the British National Curriculum.
  • Additionally, up to date knowledge of procedures related to the care and protection of children.
  • The candidate should be able to provide a letter of experience to confirm this.

(Distance or open university degrees are not accepted unless MOE equivalency is obtained). HPL (High Performance Learning) experience will be an added advantage. All certificates should be duly attested.
