Technical specifications, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality BI/analytical solutions.
Design and create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools (predominantly Power BI) to deliver actionable insights to business users.
Innovate the development and application of new intelligence/analytical methods that can perform consistently and can scale to deliver real value.
Build prototypes to validate proof-of-concepts and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to adopt solutions to support decision making, business intelligence, and improvements to all aspects of the company’s operations.
Continuously monitor and optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of the organisation’s BI solutions to meet evolving business needs.
Collaborate with data engineers to design and implement efficient data integration workflows and processes.
Identify and resolve data quality issues and inconsistencies, working closely with data stakeholders to ensure data consistency and trustworthiness.
Lead the identification and delivery of automated reporting using modern data visualization techniques.
Work closely with other engineering and technology teams to identify strategic opportunities for BI/analytics engineering to be leveraged to create optimal solutions.
Ensuring the quality, security, and scalability of BI/analytics engineering output remains high including supporting documentation.
Drive a data-first culture both within the data team and across the company by supporting continual improvement and data enablement activities.
Mentor, develop and empower colleagues in the domain of analytical expertise and data visualization.
Serve as technical point of contact for business stakeholders.
Accountable for technical decision making, defining successful outcomes and owning engineering execution for BI/analytics within the team.
Develop business cases for investments to drive improvements in metrics.
Identify new/emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies for adoption to enhance the organisation’s existing capabilities
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working with a variety of data sources, database types, query authoring (SQL), as well as common data modelling, analytics and visualisation toolsets.
Expert knowledge of working with common Data Warehousing/Data Lake technologies as well as BI tooling (ideally Microsoft Power BI and SQL Server Analysis Services).
Highly proficient in manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets (near real-time or event-driven data would be an advantage).
Solid understanding of banking/financial services domain (particularly back-office treasury/finance/accounting and regulatory reporting – eg. CBUAE BRF).
