Job Description

The School of Engineering is seeking applications from experienced academics at the Associate Professor level in the field of Computer Engineering.

The candidate is expected to contribute primarily to the teaching of specialisation subjects in the key areas of Real-time Embedded Systems, Microcontroller Architecture and Applications and Programming of Autonomous Systems. The Computer Engineering team in the School of Engineering are expected to contribute to the delivery of common foundational subjects in Programming for Engineers, Engineering Computing and Analysis, Circuits and Systems as well as Electronics.

Responsibilities:

  • As part of the dynamic team of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate is expected to play an important role in the engagement with industry on collaborative projects, the supervision of students’ capstone projects and contributions to reviews and continuous improvement of the discipline.

In research, the candidate is expected to contribute primarily to research in the field of Computer Engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • PhD. Degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline from a reputed and recognised international institution.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, preferably in Computer Engineering.

  • Well-established teaching experience of at least five years after PhD completion in the field of Computer Engineering.

  • Experience in supervising of students’ capstone projects and research.

  • Active research record in the field of Computer Engineering with relevant research output in recognised international journals as well as evidence of research leadership and collaboration.

  • Fluency in English language (both spoken and written)
