Job Description

  • Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including surfaces, floors, and storage spaces.
  • Sort, stack, and store cleaned dishes and utensils efficiently.
  • Maintain an organized and hygienic dishwashing area.
  • Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables following established procedures.
  • Monitor and manage waste bins to prevent overflow and maintain cleanliness.
  • Provide support to kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks and setup.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to facilitate smooth kitchen operations.
  • Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Follow guidelines for the proper care and maintenance of dishwashing equipment.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, including detergents and sanitizers.
  • Keep an inventory of cleaning materials and notify when restocking is required.
  • Conduct routine safety checks to ensure fire exits are clear and safety equipment is in working order.
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other departments to address cleanliness and hygiene concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding stewarding activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Good physical condition to perform tasks such as lifting and carrying moderate loads.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Clear verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
  • Adherence to hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to assist in various kitchen support tasks.
