Job Description

Responsible for developing localizing, updating, and delivering the fire training programs while assisting chief Fire Instructor in carrying out the required firefighting emergency response training.

  • Develop, update and localize fire Training Programs to International applicable certification standards.
  • Ensure trainees competency levels are met
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety policies & Procedures.
  • Deliver fire training programs to certify trainees to NFPA and other international standards.
  • Develop and manage Fire Training policies and procedures.
  • Advise on fire aspects to ensure all emergency response personnel are competent through well managed training programmes.
  • Develop & implement the standing instruction relative to the operation and maintenance of the relevant training equipment assigned to the fire program.
  • Ensure that fire training equipment is available for use and in the state of readiness for the college training programs
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the fire programs through participant feedback & test instruments.
  • Review current training programmes for Currency and technical accuracy to provide reports to the line management.
  • Conduct Risk Assessments, inspections, safety observations.
  • Supervise & control the fire training center personnel, equipment, facilities, and activities.
  • Ensure fire training and development programmes are conducted safely and competently.
  • Monitor and assist in achieving the fire training objectives and KPIs to improve performance.
  • Coordinates and tracks certification & re-certification of staff as required.
  • Responsible for administrative work in planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing the fire training activities of the Fire Training Centre.
  • Responsible for ensuring work instructions/manuals / SOPs / Management systems / Department procedures are reviewed as per the management review schedule system.
  • Responsible for ensuring all firefighting equipment’s inspection programs are maintained and certifications are documented.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum Fire Fighter 2 and Fire Instructor 1 certified; Fire Inspector 2 preferred
  • Advanced spoken and written English
  • Completed Basic Fire Fighter & Breathing Apparatus Wearer Course
  • 8 years of experience: 6 years in firefighting (preferably in Oil, Gas, and petrochemical industries) and 4 years as an inspector at a centralized fire and emergency training center
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management
  • Experience as a firefighter in both career and volunteer roles.
