Job Description

The Electrical Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Electrical, ELV, Generators and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The Technician serves as an expert technical resource reporting and interacting with onsite Engineers and any third party vendors.

They are expected to be a single focal point for all facility operations within a given data center. The Technician should be able to support the DC-operations for delivering 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, and building automation systems like BMS, DCIM.

  • Responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks and Daily visual inspections on major data center equipment.
  • Daily checking healthiness of all facilities equipment’s (UPS, LV Panels, Switchgears, Busway systems, BMS, DCIM, Controllers, ELV Systems) and Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Repair and maintenance work on a wide range of electrical equipment.
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair work on facility electrical, and ELV systems.
  • Maintain, operate all Electrical systems and associated equipment, electrical equipment, building management system.
  • Perform facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  • Create the Job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per Site requirements and close the Job cards which Supervisor assigns.
  • Responding promptly and efficiently to emergencies calls.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports of conditions in buildings and recommend actions to be taken;
  • Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, Electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.
  • Should be able to comply with HSE norms and understand the PTW process.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma/ITI in Electrical and Electronics.
  • 3-year Experience in Integrated Data Center Maintenance/Operations.
  • 5-year Experience in Electrical Maintenance.        

SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • Basic English knowledge is required
  • Basic Working Knowledge of PC systems, and CAFM Mobile Apps
  • Persistent and self-motivated.
  • Excellent organizational skills and initiative to learn and take on new responsibilities.
