Job Description

As a Head Teller at Emirates NBD, your role is to supervise a team of tellers, validating all transactions originating from the team, and ensuring they meet technical requirements, comply with procedural guidelines, and provide approval within the delegated authority limits. The job holder ensures day-to-day reconciliation of cash. The job holder resolves routine problems related to regular transactions and interfaces with internal and external parties for this purpose. The job holder provides quality customer service and resolves escalations when they happen at the teller account. The job holder communicates with other business units to ensure that service-related issues are handled or escalated when required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train tellers on proper cash handling procedures, customer service standards, and adherence to banking regulations.
  • Ensure teller operations are conducted accurately and efficiently, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
  • Monitor teller cash levels and vault management to maintain adequate funds for daily operations and compliance with security procedures.
  • Resolve escalated customer inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Conduct regular audits of teller transactions and vault balances to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Collaborate with branch management to implement operational procedures, achieve sales goals, and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the teller team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and bank policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in banking or financial services, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
